Our 12-day Good Earth South Africa Safari takes guests on a socially responsible adventure across the beautiful South African terrain while keeping each traveler’s carbon footprint to a minimum. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from every person booked will be donated to a charity of the traveler’s choice. Guests will receive the best safari experience possible, getting the opportunity to give back to local communities, gain knowledge about local issues as well as explore diverse ecosystems in search of the most majestic creatures on Earth.
Begin your journey with a “Carbon Neutral” hop-on, hop-off bus tour of Cape Town to investigate the glorious city. Discover the Malay Quarter, wander through the city center gardens, visit the historic Castle of Good Hope, then ride the cable car to the top of Table Mountain for a stunning panoramic view. On day three, choose to take a tour of the Cape Winelands or join a “Carbon Negative” biking tour through the Valley. Either way, you will enjoy a fabulous lunch at the socially responsible La Motte Restaurant and Winery. Then head to the Cheetah Outreach Center for an opportunity to learn about these incredible animals, Africa’s oldest felines.
Ride along the coast to the Grootbos Private Nature Reserve, a five-star eco paradise showcasing extraordinary flora a marine life on the southern tip of Africa. Plant a tree to support the rehabilitation of the ancient Milkwood forests then set out on a boating safari to see the Big Marine 5 – whales, sharks, dolphins, seals and penguins. Grootbos offers other eco adventures including horseback riding, bird watching, nature walks and more.
Wing your way to Johannesburg where, in collaboration with Pack For A Purpose, you will bring much needed supplies to people in the local community. Then spend your last few days in Kruger National Park, setting off on thrilling game drives in search of endemic wildlife. Spend your nights at the eco-conscious Hamiltons Tented Camp, which is completely run by solar energy and supports the surrounding community.
A portion of each traveler’s booking fee will be donated to one of the wonderful organizations helping to conserve and restore South Africa’s natural world. Guests will be able to select one of these three groups to receive their monetary gift: Give to the community through Grootbos Foundation; support wildlife rehabilitation with Cheetah Outreach; restore the environment and create healthy ecosystems with Trees For Tourism.

Good Earth South Africa Safari Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Depart USA
Depart on your international flight to South Africa!
Days 2-4 Cape Town (3 nights)
Arriving today in South Africa, explore the ‘Mother City’ and her environs.
On your second day in town, take the ‘Carbon Neutral’ Hop-On, Hop-Off Red Bus for a day long investigation of the city. You may ride a cable car up to Table Mountain, tour the colorful Malay Quarter, or pose on the very edge of the continent on a Cape Point tour.
On your third day in the Cape, you have the option a tour of the Cape Winelands and the Franschhoek Valley, or taking a ‘Carbon Negative’ biking tour through the Valley. Either way, wine tastings, a fabulous lunch at the socially responsible, award-winning La Motte Restaurant and Winery. This afternoon, head to the Cheetah Outreach Center for an opportunity to learn about these incredible animals; Africa’s oldest felines.
Days 5-6 Grootbos Nature Reserve (2 nights)
You are driven along the coast today to your next destination. Nestled between mountain and sea, the Grootbos Private Nature Reserve is a five-star eco-paradise showcasing the incredible Flora and Marine life of the Southern Tip of Africa. Home of the “Marine Big 5” – whales, sharks, dolphins, seals and penguins; and with unparalleled floral diversity, Grootbos offers a one-of-a-kind luxury African experience.
Start your time at Grootbos by planting a tree, supporting the rehabilitation of their ancient Milkwood forests, in association with the Grootbos Foundation. On your second day, you will go on a boating eco-safari designed to see the Big Marine 5, and for equal parts education and fun! Additionally, while at Grootbos you have many other eco-adventure opportunities including horseback riding, bird-watching, nature walking tours and more. At an additional expense, you may also go shark cage diving, go on a scenic flight, or a quad bike tour.
Grootbos has been committed to the conservation of the region’s biodiversity as well as uplifting the local community. The non-profit Grootbos Foundation was established during 2003 to run the Grootbos environmental and social development programs and has as its mission: The conservation of the biodiversity of Grootbos and its surrounds. And, the development of sustainable nature-based livelihoods through ecotourism, research, management and education.
Day 7 Johannesburg (1 night)
Wing to Johannesburg and overnight in luxury.
Participate in Pack For A Purpose, and help bring much needed goods to people in need in the local community.
Day 8-10 Kruger National Park (3 nights)
Head to Kruger National Park, by air, and thrilling safari days ahead. Wildlife abounds including lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo, giraffe, hippo and rhino. Daily game drives, walking safaris and superb cuisine.
Accommodations at the socially conscious Hamiltons Tented Camp, which is completely run by solar energy and gives back to the community.
Day 11 Depart Johannesburg
Fly to Johannesburg and homeward.
